The Splendor of the King is always so evident to me when I’m in the mountains. Shouldn’t it be evident to me all the time?
Shouldn’t I be in awe of Him at every moment in my life?
Well, if you’re like me and need to be knocked in the head sometimes to see the glory of God….look at these pictures! Sunrise on the Grand Tetons and beautiful Jackson Lake.

How great is our God by C.Tomlin, J.Reeves, E.Cash
The splendor of the King,
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
All the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice,
And trembles at his voice
How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great, How great
Is our God
Age to age he stands
And time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, Three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb,
The Lion and the Lamb
How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great, How great
Is our God
Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing how great
Is our God
How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great, How great
Is our God
How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great, How great
Is our God

Yes, it’s that time of year again! It’s an exciting time not without its moments of worry and hours of preparation.
On Saturday, September 26th we will hold this event at Hill Country Alpacas in Medina, TX from 10am – 4pm.
Each year since 2007 the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association has held this event in conjunction with alpaca breeders across the nation. If you are interested in visiting our ranch in Medina, TX or would like to visit a local alpaca ranch please check out this website that lists all participating farnms.
This event is a great place to learn more about the alpacas and the lifestyle they provide. We would count it a privilege to have you visit our ranch. We will have some local fiber artists at our ranch that day along with a variety of alpaca products for sale. It’s not too early to be thinking about Christmas!
See Ya!

Thank You Lord…. our little girl is now making almost normal poo. Amazing what gets one excited in the animal caretaker world.
For about 1.5 months now we have been dealing with diarrhea in ONE 9 month old alpaca. She was weaned in May, so it’s not stress from being separated from mom, as she did fine for the month following. She did have a slight load of parasites and we treated twice for that as the first round didn’t fully rid her of it. During this time we have been giving her lots of probios and even bio-sponge for the diarrhea/loose stools.
Also, at times during dealing with this she has even come up with firmed stools and almost beans. Seems like when she is about to get ‘over it’ the diarrhea comes back.
I have seen her chewing her cud from time to time, but she isn’t chewing it as much as I would like for her to. Does anyone know of something that will promote good rumen besides probios and MSE microbial paste? Really would like all the suggestions that I can get.
Thanks so much.
Update::: This little girl now is running a fever, so the vet and I have decided to attack whatever may be going on with antibiotics. I’m glad we have a plan, but I know how important it will be to keep the good bacteria in her gut going so I will also be giving her lots of probios and MSE paste. I hope that in about a week I will be able to report good news on this girl.

Wondered what it was at first…. Then the temperature dropped. All of the sudden there was a loud crack of thunder! My oh my what is that stuff falling from the sky? Should I get out of the car and dance? Seriously – a 25 degree drop, unbelievable. We didn’t get that much, but it did fill my new rain barrels about half full.
It was so fun to see the alpacas out grazing instead of gathered in the shade or in their shelters with the fans going. I think they were doing a rain dance, too.

We have decided to adopt and new puppy. Chuck would say that I have decided, but he is excited too. And news of all news, we are going to get a boy this time! We have always had females for our house pets, so this will be an interesting experience for us.

These are the two guys that we are looking at. Of course, we might change our minds after we go to visit them on Friday. I have requested from the breeder one of the smaller boys in the litter. So we shall see…..
Just so darned cute – maybe I need to get two!!! No, that would have Penny, our 11 year old Sheltie really messed up. I think she is going to think we are abusing her any way by bringing home a new puppy.
Let me know which one you think we should get……
