Woah – what a wind we have today. This morning was nice – a little balmy – but not so much wind. This afternoon is a totally different story. I went to feed the bottle babies around lunch time and when I got to the barn noticed the rocking chairs were on their sides. It’s really interesting, when it’s windy the alpacas stay cushed most of the time. I wonder if they feel unsturdy when the wind blows? The little ones came to get their bottles and stood for that, but when they were finished they immediately went back to their moms and cushed beside them. I also had to go around to each pole barn and chain the gaes back so that they wouldn’t swing in the wind. One little guy was ’stuck’ in a stall because the gate had closed on him – but, of course, it wasn’t latched. He was humming and groaning and sticking his head between the rails and I’ll bet he was wondering why he was stuck in that stall without his buddies…
Here’s to hoping the wind brings us some cooler weather – I want another month or two of Texas style winter - 60’s or so during the day – hooray!
Leigh, I’m excited about your blog!
And I tagged you over on my blog. The rules are posted on there. And, I think we are using the same wordpress background.
